“Sonora” by Mata Ruda
Building upon a long tradition of murals in Mexico, nearly a thousand decorate the walls of buildings throughout Tucson. Professor Karlito Miller Espinoza, also known as the artist Mata Ruda, painted this with the help of two students in December 2018. “Sonora” celebrates Hispanic culture in Arizona and uses symbolism to highlight the many organizations within the building.
